In a tuneup for this weekend’s Mt. SAC Relays at El Camino College, the Palisades High boys and girls track and field squads hosted a tri-meet against Hamilton and Leuzinger last Wednesday at Stadium by the Sea.
In the boys’ 100-meter dash, Kyrick Curl was second in 11.56 seconds, Devin Fry was third in 11.69 and Diago Pickens was fifth in a season-record 13.15. Curl ran a personal-best 22.7 seconds in the 200 meters.
Julian Anderson clocked 11.47 in the frosh/soph 100 and a personal-best 23.08 in the frosh/soph 200.
Shayne Larimer ran the varsity 400 in 52.46 and Devanair Skinner clocked 53.27 in the frosh/soph race.
William Mullins and Emmett Kallmeyer each ran the varsity 800 in 2:05 and Noah Campbell ran the frosh/soph race in 2:19. Kenny Davis won the varsity 110 hurdles in 15.81 and Nnamdi Onwaoze clocked 40.6 in the 300 hurdles.
The Dolphins’ 4×100 varsity relay team ran 44 seconds flat, Mesache Santos recorded a personal-best 37 feet, 8 inches in the shot put, Davis leaped 20-3 in the long jump and Fry cleared a personal-best 5-8 in the varsity high jump.
For the girls, Mia Emerson (13.43) and fellow sophomore Chandler Smith (13.66) were second and third in varsity the 100-meter dash and Amilah Gray won the frosh/soph 100 in 13.44 and the 200 in 27.55.
Lilyan Garside clocked 61.39 in the varsity 400 meters, Kylie Webster clocked a personal-best 67.72 in the frosh/soph race, Chloe Boldra clocked a personal-best 20.02 in the varsity 100 hurdles and 54.44 in the 300 hurdles and Gabby Ligon ran 18.63 in the frosh/soph 100 hurdles and 51.01 in the 300 hurdles.
The Dolphins’ 4×100 varsity relay ran 50.75, Jane Nwaba leaped 15-9 in the varsity long jump and Prisca Onyenechehe leaped 13-10 in the frosh/soph long jump.
