Competing on home turf for the first time all season, Palisades High’s boys girls track teams scorched the Carl Lewis track last week at Stadium by the Sea.
Amari Yolas, the starting center fielder on the baseball team, finally got a chance to show off his blazing speed and the Cal State Northridge commit won the 100-meter dash in 10.98 seconds. Teammates LaHenry Solomon (11.88), Jayden Joch (11.89) and Zachary Chang (11.90) rounded out the top four spots.
Ronin Sherertz (23.56), Joch (23.84), Chang (24.48) and Harrison Carter (24.72) swept the top four places in the boys varsity 200.
Sherertz also won the 400 in 52.10 followed by Zach Amster (52.77), Kenneth Ojtojich (53.81), Carter (54.32) and Levy Shaked (54.41).
Bodhi Sahakian (2:06.96) and Axel Mammen (2:11.50 ) were first and second in the 800 and Mammen won the 1600 in 4:51.10. Adam Andres won the 300 hurdles in 46.88.
Mikayla Murphy paced the girls varsity, winning the 100 in 12.85, followed by Elysha Chae (13.50), Alexis Ticer (13.72) and Kalee Herd (13.91). Murphy (27.43) and Chae (28.14) also finished first and second in the 200 while Annabelle Refnes (1:01.70) and Iliana Fisher (1:03.60) did the same in the 400. Ava Baak (2:29.52) and Layla Adeli (2:34.39) were first and second in the 800, as Kyra Morris (5:44.05) and Virginia O’Neill (5:45.66) were in the 1600.
Kate Swain (53.73) won the hurdles.
Palisades traveled to South Pasadena High for the 77th Pasadena Games on Saturday and Chae took 10th in the varsity girls 200 in 27.82. Refnes (1:01.85) took third in the 400. For the boys, Sherertz placed sixth in the 400 in 51.49, Amster (52.61) was ninth and Sahakian was fourth in the 800 in 2:04.30.
