Palisadian Jennifer Garner is returning to Netflix for “The Adam Project.”
“The Adam Project,” a science fiction film directed by Shawn Levy (“Stranger Things”), follows a time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed (Ryan Reynolds) as he teams up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future after accidentally crash-landing in 2022.
“Together they must embark on an adventure into the past to find their father, set things right and save the world,” according to a synopsis by ProductionWeekly. “Working together, both young and grown Adam come to terms with the loss of their father and have a chance to heal the wounds that have shaped them.
“Adding to the challenge of the mission, the two Adams discover they really don’t like each other very much, and if they’re going to save the world, they’re first going to have to figure out how to get along.”
“The Adam Project” marks the second film Levy has directed with Canadian actor Reynolds in the lead role. The duo previously worked together on “Free Guy,” which was released in theaters and streaming services in December 2020.
Garner stars alongside Reynolds, Zoe Saldana, Catherine Keener, Lucie Guest and more in “The Adam Project.” She is also reunited with Mark Ruffalo, who she starred in “13 Going on 30” with, nearly 18 years ago.
“Wishing dust worked!” Garner shared in an Instagram post with Ruffalo, in reference to their 2004 film. “And I got a perfect day with my old pal.”
Garner has another upcoming project with Netflix, “Family Leave,” a comedy based on a book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, “Bedtime for Mommy.”
“The combination of art, efficiency and scale Netflix offers its filmmakers is unmatchable—and the people are even better,” Garner shared in another Instagram post. “I love collaborating with this team. At [Netflix] we can talk about everything from indies to action to comedy to drama to family.”
“The Adam Project,” with a run time of one hour and 46 minutes, is slated to release March 11 on Netflix.
