Swim teacher Sharon Minasian Skowron is proud to announce that 23 children recently received their trophies for completing their long distance swims at her backyard pool in the Palisades.
Highlighting this year’s group of trophy winners was 7-year-old Max “Mo” Oshinsky, who swam a pool record two and two-thirds miles (400 lengths). When he was 4, he swam one-fifth of a mile.
Skowron’s other 2017 trophy earners were as follows: Jasper Lee Kant (two-thirds of a mile); Rachel Peters (two and one quarter miles); Jackson Hoek (one and one-third miles); Gracie Rudolf (two-thirds of a mile); Tate Jennison (one-half mile); Scarlett Bash (one-third of a mile); Hannah Swift (one-eighth of a mile); Poppy Bates (three-fourths of a mile); Hudson Port (one-eighth of a mile); Zain Mourad (two-thirds of a mile); Jad Mourad (one-half mile); Olivia Adams (two miles); Cameron Mackay (one mile); Ethan Mackay (one and one-eighth miles); Tucker Rowland (three-fourths of a mile); Kade Craft (two miles); Emma Traister (two-thirds of a mile); Zoe Zajdzinski (one-fifth of a mile); Quinn Hoover (one and one-eighth miles); Lana A. and Kaitya A. (one-third mile); and Alex Traister (one-half mile).
