Best Friends Animal Society is bringing Strut Your Mutt to Pacific Palisades on Saturday and there are many ways for kids to help.
Palisadians and their four-legged friends will head to Will Rogers Historic State Park for an early-evening fun run/walk for participants and their dogs. An outdoor festival with activities for humans and their pets will follow.
No matter your age, or whether or not you have a dog of your own, you can help save the lives of dogs in shelters all over the city.
(Ages 8+) – Spread the word by passing out fliers/information in the community at local coffee shops, pet stores, etc.
(Ages 8+) – Hold a donation drive. In the past, volunteers who were too young to volunteer at the center have thrown kitten showers to garner donations for the nursery
(Ages 8+) – Assist with fostering an animal. While it is required for a person to be over 18 to be the responsible party and attend a foster orientation, families are not restricted and youth are encourage to get involved with the daily caregiving of a foster animal.
(Ages 12-14) – Along with a parent/guardian, volunteers in this age range may become a regular volunteer in our LA programs such as volunteering at one of our two centers.
(Ages 15-17) – Volunteers are permitted to participate in our programs and partake in all opportunities on their own as long as we have parental consent via a minor waiver.
