Who is Kids On Stage?
- KOS was founded in 1987. We are a community of dedicated professional artists and performing arts educators. Our caring and inspiring directors help bring out the best in each young actor. Our home base is in Santa Monica but we work in communities throughout Los Angeles and now, with virtual, we extend across state lines and across the sea.
- KOS prides itself on its personalized, age-appropriate adaptations of musicals, plays and stories, which has been crafted over the years to integrate all levels of ability.
- All programs consciously promote self-expression, self-awareness, self-esteem and confidence. Actors are encouraged to work together as a team, brainstorm while expanding their theater skills in a safe and supportive environment, which expands beyond the class, creating valuable life skills.
- In this age of technology, KOS’ goal is to cultivate a love of theater and traditional arts helping cut through the digital clutter. Play acting, role-playing and brainstorming cultivates curiosity, and helps build confidence and tap into
the art of imagination, regardless of age.
What does your camp offer?
Our fun-filled in-person and virtual camps run through the summer. Each camp session brings a new musical theme.
Also available is our Backyard Theater Pod program, with private camp or classes. You host with a group of your friends in a backyard or any safe outdoor area (i.e. park, etc.) and KOS does the rest. We coordinate with you best days, hours and theme.
Camps encourage creative expression, sharing ideas in a safe and supportive environment. Under the guidance of a theater professional, actors are encouraged to tap into their imagination and dive into character development through theater games, acting, singing and choreography.
Actors will be encouraged to find their voice and build confidence while learning valuable skills, which extend beyond the camp. Camps are for all levels and age-appropriate. Each camp may culminate with an open house presentation on the last day of camp.
Along with above, KOS’ engaging virtual camps help actors build more confidence and skills in front of a lens.
In-the-Park camps are held in Santa Monica at Clover Park.
In-person safety requirements: To keep actors and staff safe, everyone required to wear masks at all times. Social distancing is enforced.
What dates does your camp run?
