After being tangled up at the Pacific Palisades Community Council for months, plans to redevelop the former Shell station at 15401 Sunset Blvd. will be heard by city planners at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31. It will be held at the West Los Angeles Municipal Building, located at 1645 Corinth Ave. The developers say they are merely updating the old 24-hour gas station with modern facilities, including a 2,400-square-foot convenience store. Opponents are concerned about light, noise affecting nearby condos, and plans to sell beer and wine between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
