Go, not stop, proved to the be reason for an accident in the Via de la Paz alleyway behind the Rickshaw Chinese Laundry and A Cut Above last Saturday afternoon. Lisa Poller, owner of A Cut Above, said, “I was doing someone’s hair when I heard this horrendous noise. I looked outside and this car had come through the fence and was hanging inches from the building.” She dialed 911 and Stations 69 and 23 firefighters responded. They helped the male driver, who was unhurt, out of the car. Within an hour, the car was dragged back from its precarious perch, put on a flatbed truck and taken away for repairs.
Reportedly, the man driving the car was dropping off his laundry at Rickshaw and accidentally stepped on the gas, instead of the brakes, when parking.
