March 2, 1960 – March 11, 2018
Robin J. Gold died suddenly following a stroke on March 11. She was 58 years old.
Robin was born and spent her early years in Venice, California, with her grandparents, Morris and Jeanne Gold, and with her mother, Judith Gold. Robin lived in Pacific Palisades for the last six years.
Robin began her 30-year career as an All Breeds dog groomer at Golden Fleece, Palisades Veterinary Center and Tender Loving Care. In 1997, Robin started her own business, Robin 4 Grooming. She rented space at Animal Kingdom, and later at Aquarium and Pet Center, both in Santa Monica.
Her clients praised Robin’s ability to groom their pets to perfection, as well as to answer questions, give advice and treat each dog as special. When the recession forced Robin to close her business in 2012, many of her clients followed her to Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies, and then to Yo Dawg Groom Spot in Santa Monica where Robin had currently been working.
Robin had a special place in her heart for the many Chihuahuas who found a home with her over the years. She would be happy to know that her much-loved Jazzy and Ronna Lee have found wonderful new homes.
Robin was unique in many ways. She had many friends and acquaintances, and took an interest in people from all walks of life. She was always available to lend a hand and was keenly aware of what was going on around her.
Robin enjoyed music and tending her potted plants. She made beautifully colored crocheted rugs and blankets that she enjoyed giving to others
She will be remembered and missed by those who knew her, and especially by her Aunt Phoebe and Uncle Charles Gold, and close friends, Elaine Noll and Mely and Tim Parmelle.
Robin was buried next to her mother and her grandparents at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.
