Palisadian Ali Riley helped the New Zealand women’s soccer team shock host Brazil, 1-0, in Saturday’s international friendly in Sao Paulo.
A starting defender for the Football Ferns, Riley grew up in the Alphabet Streets, was a multi-sport athlete at St. Matthew’s and went on to star at Harvard-Westlake High and Stanford University. The 28-year-old now plays professionally for FC Rosengård in Sweden.
