The Department of City Planning released a revised draft of its Baseline Mansionization/Baseline Hillside (BMO/BHO) Code Amendment last Thursday, April 21.
The revised development standards, aimed at reducing the allowable size of new construction and renovations for single-family homes throughout Los Angeles, can be found online at bit.ly/1qMDeNs.
A previous version of the draft BMO/BHO Code Amendment was released last December.
After receiving feedback from residents through a series of public hearings, City Planning went back to the drawing board to integrate community input.
Another round of public hearings is scheduled to take place throughout the first half of May.
If adopted, the amendment, which comes in response to what some Angelenos and politicians are calling out-of-control mansionization, would affect neighborhoods within Pacific Palisades that are not in the Coastal zone.
(To find out if your home is in the Coastal zone, visit zimas.lacity.org, type in your address, then click on “Additional.” Next to “Coastal Zone” it will either say “Coastal Zone Commission Authority,” which means the residence is within the coastal zone, or “None,” which means it is not in the coastal zone.)
