The Pacific Palisades Community Council appointed first and second alternate representatives for each area in the Palisades on Thursday, Oct 11. Alternates will serve in the absence of that area’s representative.
Notable community members include Palisadian Melanie Bouer who will represent The Highlands, a neighborhood leading the fight against improper land use and at the forefront of the fight to stop an incoming eldercare facility. She is focused on issues like “large-scale development, increased crime and traffic congestion, and protection of coastal resources and parks,” according to her profile description.
Moving from his post as American Legion Representative, David Card will serve as at-large alternate behind recently elected Alan Goldsmith. Card, who was also on the election committee, will now serve on the bylaws committee with new guidelines expected to be implemented soon.
Adding to her two-year term, Marilyn Wexler, also the president of the Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association, will be second alternate for Area 7, behind Steve Boyers and Cathy Russell.
First and second alternates for each area include: Doug McCormick and Kelly Comras (Area 1), Melanie Bouer and Bruce Schwartz (Area 2), Danielle Samulon and Howard Robinson (Area 3), Steve Lantz and Jan Ostendorf (Area 4), Robin Meyers and Robert Glassman (Area 5), David Peterson and Jason Sklar (Area 6), Cathy Russell and Marilyn Wexler (Area 7), Andrew Wolfberg and Niloo Kia (Area 8), and David Card and Mary Mueller (At-Large).
