The Pacific Palisades Baseball Association’s Mustang 10U All-Stars host the PONY District 2 tournament this weekend at the Field of Dreams. The double-elimination tournament consists of teams from East Long Beach, South Bay, Lynwood, Paramount, Los Alamitos, Pico Rivera and Redondo.
Palisades plays its first game at noon Saturday against Redondo. The winner meets the Los Alamitos-Pico Rivera winner at 10 a.m. Sunday while the loser plays the Los Alamitos-Pico Rivera loser at the same time . The final is at 2 p.m. Sunday. The top four teams advance to the Section playoffs beginning July 11 in Santa Monica.

The PPBA’s Mustang 9U All-Stars made the finals of the District tournament in Torrance and advance to the Super Region tournament July 10-15 in Santa Clarita.

Having advanced out of the District 1 South Bay tournament, the PPBA’s 8U Pinto team is now in the Section playoffs at Smith Park in Pico Rivera. Palisades plays John Mendez today and the winner plays East Long Beach at 10 a.m. Saturday. Other teams in the tournament are Pico Rivera, Los Alamitos and Torrance American.

The PPBA’s Bronco 11 All-Stars played host Torrance American today in the District playoffs with the winner clinching a berth in the Super Region tournament July 10-15 in Whittier.

The Bronco 12s played East Long Beach in the first round of the District 1 playoffs today in Pico Rivera with the winner moving on to the semifinals Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against the Torrance-Lynwood winner and the loser facing the Torrance-Lynwood loser at 3 p.m. Saturday.
