One of the most anticipated arrivals of the New Year is the first baby born to parents living in Pacific Palisades. Launched in 1954 by the Palisadian-Post, the tradition began with Arnold Anchordoguy. Last year’s first arrival was Maeve Elizabeth Lester, who was born on Jan. 23 at 5:49 p.m.
This year, Bank of America is sponsoring the First Baby contest and will be awarding the winner a savings account in the amount of $100. The winning infant and his or her family will also receive gifts from the following: Aquarium of the Pacific, Kay ’n’ Dave’s, The LA Organizer, Palisades Garden Café, Dental Spa, Il Piccolo Ritrovo, Palisades Music School, Bellagio Nails & Spa, Patrick’s Roadhouse, Vivian’s Boutique, Palisades Barber Shop, Regal Cleaners, Pump Station in Santa Monica, Palisades Pizza, Alicia’s Place Childcare, Party Pizzazz, Del Frisco’s Grille, Palisades Compounding Pharmacy Knolls Pharmacy.
To be eligible, parents must own or rent a house in Pacific Palisades. The attending physician must specify time of birth and weight in writing. Eligible parents who have early-January babies should contact the Post’s editorial department with the date, time and location of birth.
