Palisades Lutheran Church will hold its inaugural Oktoberfest 5K Charity Run & Walk starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 16. The course weaves through the residential streets of the El Medio Bluffs.
Flyers are being placed notifying home owners along the race route and adjoining streets. Palisades residents and neighboring community runners and walkers are invited to register for the run to support local charities. The entry fee is $18 if you register by Oct. 2; $20 if you register by Oct. 5; and $25 beginning Oct. 6. There will also be a 1K Kids Run. Cost is $10 if you sign up by Oct. 2 and $15 thereafter. All participants will receive a race T-shirt and 30 percent of proceeds will be divided among the charities with the largest teams that participate.
Non-runners should volunteer to help staff the event on race day. A post-race beer garden and awards ceremony will be held in the church courtyard at 11:30 a.m., followed by the church’s annual Oktoberfest dinner from 4-7 p.m. Visit www.plc.cc to download a registration form.
