Aseries of rainstorms that began on Sunday had delivered .9 inches of rain to Pacific Palisades as the Palisadian-Post went to print this week, with more wet weather still to come. That figure provided by Huntington resident Craig Weston, who tracks Palisades-specific “micro-weather” from a station in his backyard.

The storms were caused by an “atmospheric river” colloquially dubbed the “Pineapple Express,” in which moisture makes its way across the Pacific and dumps rain on the West Coast. The series of storms—the largest of their kind in the last decade—have hit Northern and Central California significantly harder than the Southland.
