In honor of her 99th birthday, long-time Palisadian Phyllis Keely (Genovese) was given a surprise party at the Golden Bull on Jan. 15.
Keely served as the Chamber of Commerce President in 1974 and owned the Letter Shop at 865 Via de la Paz for several years.
Adorned with her birthday tiara, Keely openned gag gifts from the 99 Cent Only store.
Her secret to reaching 99? “I guess it’s because I only drink the good stuff,” she said.
