Palisades High football players will finally get to line up across from a team in a different uniform next Thursday when they travel to Lake Balboa to scrimmage reigning City Open Division champion Birmingham.
The Patriots have won the last two City upper division titles and have not lost to a section opponent since 2018. The Dolphins won their first 11 games last season before losing to San Pedro in the Open Division semifinals. The JV scrimmage is at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6 p.m.
Palisades opens the season Aug. 19 at home versus El Camino Real.
