Palisades Beautiful is sponsoring a tree walk on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. Jim Jaeger, a horticulturist well known to Palisadians who love gardens, will lead the walk, which will start at the corner of El Medio Avenue and Seabec Circle, just a short block from Asilomar Blvd. and the El Medio Bluffs.
Jaeger will provide an opportunity to learn more about the street trees, as well as about plants in the landscaping around them.
Those who are thinking of planting a tree will have a chance to see which trees are particularly well adapted to our microclimate. Jaeger will point out the different kinds of trees that occupy parkways. Palisades Beautiful has a list of the designated street trees in each neighborhood.
Guests will also get useful tips about tree care.
Participants in WISE and Healthy Aging’s new Pacific Palisades WISE Connections walking group will join the walk.
