Despite dropping its first set in Western League play this season, Palisades High’s girls volleyball team beat archrival Venice, 25-17, 21-25, 25-22, 25-15, Monday to clinch its eighth consecutive outright league championship.
The Dolphins (36-9 overall, 12-0 in league) will find out today where they are seeded in the City Section Open Division playoffs, which begin next Thursday night.
Palisades has won 99 straight league matches—losing only 12 sets in the process—since being swept at Venice on Oct. 18, 2010 under former coach Chris Forrest.
The Dolphins have played in four of the last five City finals, winning a Division I title in 2014.
