Playing without senior Sophia Eberlein because of an academic commitment, the Palisades High girls golf team recorded its best team score ever Friday, carding a 233 at Penmar.
Sophomore team captain Melanie Matayoshi was the medalist with a 9-under par 43 through nine holes.
Senior Carly Weitz and freshman Mariana Paleno each shot a 46, freshman Casey Neumann fired a 47, sophomore Abby Brown had a 51 and freshman Lillia Weissmuller shot a 55. The Dolphins remain undefeated in league and are closing in on their first league title ever.
The final two league matches move to Balboa Golf Course, also the site of the league finals and City finals on Nov. 2.
“Additional practice time and commitment to improving are yielding good results,” Coach James Paleno said.
