Amatch circled on the calendar for the Palisades High boys golf team heading into the 2019 season was last Thursday’s 6A League match at Knollwood Country Club against Granada Hills, which dethroned the Dolphins at the City Championships last spring in Griffith Park.
This time, the visiting Golfin’ Dolphins got revenge by the razor thin margin of one stroke—201 to 202—led by sophomore medalist Charlie Lovett, who fired a 2-over par 38 to edge freshman teammate Jaden Vann and Granada Hills’ David Wong by a single shot.
Rounding out the Dolphins’ scorecards were sophomore Noah Mirza (40), freshman Bilguudei Enkhbold (42), senior captain Ali Zafar-Khan (42), sophomore Jackson Nettleship (42), sophomore Tiger Woo (46) and junior Sam Swartz (55).
Palisades improved its record to 3-0, having defeated Taft by 82 strokes and Cleveland by 32 strokes in its first two league matches, both at Rancho Park. Vann was the medalist against Taft; Enkhbold versus Cleveland.
