The Palisades High varsity tennis team took a road trip to Westlake Village on Friday hoping for a tougher test than what they face in the Western League.
What the Dolphins got instead was another blowout, winning the round robin intersectional match 15-3 behind a sweep at No. 1 doubles by reigning City Section Individual champions Madeline Prins and Lizzie Belokonnyi, who dropped a total of five games in three sets.
Twins Sophia and Ireland Amato swept, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 doubles and Caroline Goldberg, Calypso Peraticos and Abby Schleichkorn all swept in singles.
On Monday, Palisades celebrated assistant coach Sam Megowenâs birthday with a shutout of visiting Hamilton, losing two games in seven pro sets to stay unbeaten in league.
Morgan Swan won 8-1 at No. 1 singles, Peraticos won 8-0 at No. 2, Schleichkorn won 8-0 at No. 3 and Caroline Ross won 8-0 at No. 4.
Belokonnyi and Prins won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, Sophia Amato and Gigi Feingold won 8-1 at No. 2 and Ireland Amato paired with Alex Miller to win 8-0 at the No. 3 position.
