Looking to build on the success of last fall’s City Section Open Division team the Palisades High football program will open the 2022 season against El Camino Real on August 19 at Stadium by the Sea. The junior varsity game is at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity at 7.
The following Friday, August 26, the Dolphins travel to San Fernando and on Thursday, September 1, they travel to Granada Hills High for the annual Charter Bowl game.
Rounding out the nonleague portion of the schedule are a road game at St. Genevieve on Friday, Sept. 9, and, following a bye week, a home game against Brentwood School on Sept. 23 (varsity only).
Western League play opens on the road at University on Sept. 30 (JV at 4, varsity at 7), followed by a home game versus Hamilton (same times).
Palisades travels to Fairfax on Oct. 14 and closes the regular season by hosting Westchester on Oct. 21 and Venice on Oct. 28 on Senior Night.
Coaches are also trying to finalize a date for a pre-season scrimmage in Lake Balboa with reigning City champion Birmingham.
The Dolphins are entered in two 7-on-7 passing tournaments: Saturday, July 9 at Culver City High and Saturday, July 16 at El Camino Real in Woodland Hills. Official practice begins Monday, July 25. Palisades won 11 of 12 games in 2021.
