A vandalism incident at Palisades Charter High School reportedly caused $7,000 in damage earlier this month, but one of the school’s chief concerns amid the destruction was the effect of homophobic graffiti on the student body.
In the week that followed, the school’s Gay Straight Alliance group hosted an open student forum for peers to share their feelings, concerns and suggestions.
“From the graffiti incident two years ago, to the incident that occurred this past week, the Pali community has truly shown that we are much stronger than these individuals’ hate,” Senior ASB representative Amir Ebtehadj said.
The school is still coordinating with LAPD to identify suspects from the attack, which was captured on CCTV cameras.
