A 27-year-old Palisadian woman was arrested Thursday, Sept. 11, on suspicion of beating her 91-year-old grandfather, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident took place in the 1200 block Monument St., said Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore.
Moore said a caretaker saw the woman, whose identity was not released, demand money from the victim before the assault took place.
The victim suffered a cut to his head but refused to be taken to a hospital, Moore said, describing the man’s injuries as minor to moderate.
“The suspect arrived with her boyfriend and pushed the victim on the bed,” Moore said. “When the victim said he was going to call police, the suspect became angry and threw a phone at the victim’s face.”
She then began hitting him in the head, Moore explained. At one point during the attack, the suspect’s boyfriend pulled the woman, described as being intoxicated and belligerent, off her grandfather to stop the assault.
Police believe the woman was living with her grandfather and his wife at the time of the attack.
Moore said the woman’s bail was set at $50,000 but deferred to detectives for the release of her identity.
