The Pacific Western Bank on Sunset Boulevard, next to Bank of America, was robbed this morning by a man brandishing a handgun. After he exited the bank, he was seen riding a bicycle, according to witnesses.
Police were called at 10:45 a.m. The suspect was described as a white adult in his 30s, wearing a blue Polo shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident. The suspect escaped with $2,000 and is considered armed and dangerous, according to Denice Montelongo, Palisades Patrol dispatcher.
“We went ahead and called [nearby schools] and warned them of the danger,” Montelongo said.
The first police unit that responded left the bank to search for the suspect. No injuries were reported.
