The Palisades-based Pac6 Boys Volleyball Club sent four of its teams to last weekend’s SCVA Junior Invitational in Anaheim and the second-seeded 16s squad reached the finals of the gold division, falling to top-seeded Balboa Bay 16 Blue, 25-22, 25-21.
Coached by Dylan Maarek and Matthew Clayton and consisting of Ethan Smith, Ian Dunipace, Percy Bickford, Alex Knight, Jasper Richards, Johnny Wilson, Jacob Lee and Palisadians Trey White, Akhil Tangutur, Xander Hurley, Justin Howard and Nicholas Conte, the team travels to Columbus, Ohio in July for the USAV Junior National Championships.
Also earning a bid to Jr. Nationals was Pac6’s 17s squad, coached by Rob McLean and Aleksandra Wachowicz and consisting of Jeremy Blake, Lucas Sampaio, Jake Mitchell, Johann Dohmann and Palisadians Connor Belletti, Wyatt Lewis, Marcus Partain, Miles Partain, Jimmy Taylor and Flaviano Winter.
Pac6 Volleyball hosts its Valentine’s Day Classic on Sunday at Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica. Proceeds benefit the Union Rescue Mission. For details, call Jeff Conte at 310-880-5194.
