Mrs. Douglas Andrew Thompson (Kathy), president of Las Madrinas, presented Dr. Mark Krieger, director of the Neurological Institute and chief of neurosurgery, with a contribution to the Las Madrinas Endowment for the Chief of Neurology Chair and the Neurological Institute Epilepsy Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on behalf of the members of Las Madrinas. Members of the Palisades Newcomers and Friends Club took a docent-led art tour on the Metro line from Santa Monica to Downtown Los Angeles. The group learned of the processes used by artists, including Constance Mallinson and Daniel Gonzalez, through designs that had been rendered in mosaics and displayed overheard on the platforms.
The Paul Revere Charter Middle School wrestling team was recently featured in a pilot written by comedian Adam Hunter. The scripted pilot “PINNED” is about a 35-year-old down and out former high school wrestling champion who coaches a middle school team of misfit kids. Featured in the pilot were Michael Gatto, Billy Bentley, Derek Anwar, James VanWagenen, Lenny Bentley, Daniel Gatto, Ahmad Dzhabrailov and Adam Hunter.
