Palisades Girl Scout Troop 565 crafted a eucalyptus bench that was delivered to the Gentle Barn on Sunday, April 22, as part of the troop’s Bronze Award service project. The Gentle Barn works to rescue animals from abuse and neglect, and provides a safe place for them to live out their lives.
Three Palisades Charter High School Students, Sophia Arvin, Abby Brown and Maddy Brown of Girl Scout Troop 12815, participated in a Sisterhood and Bliss Journey through the Girl Scouts. All three scouts have received the highest honor in the program: the Summit pin.
The Angelic Auxiliary of Children’s Bureau, a nonprofit leader in child abuse prevention and treatment, which has many Palisadian members, hosted the 16th annual Carnival at the Pier, raising more than $140,000. Marquez Charter Elementary School graduate Charlotte Drummond recently took home a Gold Medal after winning three Gold Keys three years in a row in the Scholastic Western Region Art & Writing Contest. Drummond (right), who is pictured here with her sister Trinity Rose (left) and brother Thomas, won for Personal Essay/Memoir with her piece “Love Letters.”
