Topanga Canyon Boulevard Preservation | Topanga
The California Department of Transportation will begin a project to preserve 22 miles of Topanga Canyon Boulevard from Pacific Coast Highway to Cezanne Avenue.
The $2.9 million in funding needed to complete the project was received from Senate Bill 1. The project is meant to create a more comfortable commute for drivers using the road.
“Motorists and cyclists rely on a smooth roadway through the Santa Monica Mountains to get to work or to go take a swim at the beach,” said Department of Transportation District 7 Director John Bulinski in a recent press release.
The operation to fix the busy highway started July 15, with work being done at night. The construction will cause a one-way traffic control—motorists are encouraged to take and plan alternate routes.
More roadway updates can be found at dot.ca.gov/d7/projects.
