Hiker Discovers Body on Trail | Castellammare
A hiker discovered a deceased body on a trail in Pacific Palisades on Thursday, December 22, 2022, according to Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesperson Margaret Stewart. Firefighters and paramedics dispatched at 3:04 p.m. to 17981 W. Surfview Lane.
“In the preliminary stages it appears there is no evidence of foul play,” Los Angeles Police Department Senior Lead Officer Brian Espin said. “The coroner and Operations West Bureau Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation due to the cause of death being undetermined.”
The age and gender of the individual was not determined at the time of print.

Virtual Reality Program | Palisades Branch Library
Palisades Branch Library will offer an Introduction to Virtual Reality program to Pacific Palisades teenagers, starting Saturday, January 7, at 1 p.m.
“This exciting introduction to VR technology will allow teens to experiment with VR cameras to find unique ways to tell stories and share their reality,” according to an announcement. “They will learn how to create virtual reality experiences with a 360 camera, and will be instructed on the resources they can use to do simple edits and share their work on social media platforms.”
The introduction is part of the library’s Future Ready Teens program.

Two New Art Shows | Topanga Canyon
Topanga Canyon Gallery will present its first two solo exhibitions of the year: “Where Have All The Flowers Gone” by Kate Browning and “La Tierra” by Debbi Green.
Both shows will run Friday, January 6, through Sunday, January 29. An opening reception will take place at the gallery—located at 137 Topanga Canyon Boulevard—on Saturday, January 7, from 4 to 7 p.m.
