Land Use Committee Meeting | The Village
The Pacific Palisades Community Council will meet on Thursday, Aug. 23, to further discuss the proposed project at 17346 Sunset Blvd.—the site of the former Jack-in-the-Box. The proposed project includes 3,000 square feet of retail space and 40 dwelling units.
According to the agenda, there will be a presentation by the project applicant and/or representative, public comment, discussion by the committee and a possible motion.
The meeting will take place at Palisades Branch Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Hikers Rescued | Pacific Palisades
On the morning of Saturday, Aug. 18, Los Angeles Fire Department Station 23 responded to an adult female who suffered a lower leg injury while hiking off Temescal Canyon Road. According to spokesperson Amy Bastman, she was transported to a local hospital via helicopter.
In the evening on the same day, Station 23 responded to a female hiker at 16634 Via Pacifica. She suffered an arm injury and was hoisted to a local hospital in fair condition.

Palisadian Kickstarter Surpasses Goal | Pacific Palisades
On Aug. 9, the Palisadian-Post reported that students Jonathan Damico and Cameron Schiller launched a Kickstarter campaign for Prova: a reinvention of the school backpack. Their initial goal was $35,000, and they currently have $44,703 pledged.

Palisades Rec Center Activity Registration | The Village
Adults may now register for Flag Football and Softball League at Palisades Recreation Center, in addition to a range of other sports and programs offered to athletes of all ages and abilities. Registration forms are available at laparks.org/reccenter/palisades.

Free Introductory Sessions | The Village
Palisades Music School, founded and directed by Jy Gronner, is hosting a series of free introductory sessions for anyone interested in learning more about programs offered at the school.
Sessions are scheduled through mid-September. The next three, which take place at the school’s 881 Alma Real Drive location, are Saturday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m., and Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
