Hatch Chile Season | The Village
Throughout the month of August into early September, Gelson’s will be offering pickup orders of Hatch chiles on weekends, as well as featuring the chiles in kitchen recipes at the store.
“Hailing from Hatch, New Mexico, these bursting-with-flavor peppers (spicy and a little sweet) are headlining a bunch of our delightful kitchen dishes,” according to the Gelson’s website. “Cooking at home? Purchase a case (or two!) of our freshly roasted Hatch chiles.”
Order by August 3 at 4 p.m. for pickup on August 6 or 7. All pickups will be between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
“Gelson’s has long been a local advocate for Hatch chiles, a mildly hot and savory pepper that, when perfectly roasted, yields a uniquely delicious flavor, both spicy and sweet, offering a flavor pop that enhances a range of recipes,” according to a press release.
Recipes in the kitchen that include the chiles will be Hatch Chile and Heirloom Tomato Salad, Hatch Chile Cornbread, Hatch Macaroni and Cheese, and more.
