Body Found Near Tide | Will Rogers State Beach
A body was found on Will Rogers State Beach early Sunday morning, August 29, according to CBS Los Angeles.
According to West LA Area Commanding Officer Captain Jonathan Tom, the person was a 28-year-old male and there was no evidence of foul play.
The discovery was made shortly after 12 a.m. near the shoreline along Pacific Coast Highway and Temescal Canyon Road.

Theatre Palisades to Host Auditions | Pacific Palisades
Theatre Palisades is scouting its cast for “A Comedy of Tenors” by Ken Ludwig. The show is slated to run a total of 18 performances, from November 5 through December 12.
“One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong?”according to a preview of the show. “Almost everything! 1930s Paris is ready for the concert of the century—so long as producer Henry Saunders can keep the amorous Italian superstar, Tito, and his hot-blooded wife, Maria, from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, blissful romance and madcap delight.”
Audition dates are Saturday, September 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday, September 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Pierson Playhouse.

Teen Cancer America Polo Event | Will Rogers State Historic Park
Teen Cancer America invites Palisadians to its second annual Polo Event at Will Rogers Polo Club on Sunday, September 12.
“Throw on your sun hats and dapper bow ties and come join Teen Cancer America for polo and lunch to raise funds and awareness for teens and young adults affected by cancer,” an invitation to the event read.
The event will feature a champagne divot stomp and lawn activities like corn hole and polo-mallet swinging. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., followed by the polo event at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Interested parties must purchase their tickets ahead of time as tickets will not be sold at the door due to limited capacity. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will reportedly be smaller than in years past.

Gelson’s to Offer Meals for Jewish High Holidays | The Village
Amid the Jewish High Holidays, Gelson’s, located at 15424 Sunset Boulevard, will be offering holiday meals.
“As always, family gatherings and culinary traditions are a cherished part of the annual celebration for thousands of Jews across Southern California,” according to a press release. “While some enjoy spending hours making home-cooked meals, for those without the time or the inclination, Gelson’s is offering all your holiday favorites such as a rotisserie chicken or beef brisket dinner with matzo ball soup, noodle kugel, chopped liver and herb roasted potatoes. Additional sides such as potato pancakes (latkes) and tzimmes are also available.”
The dinners serve four, and can be ordered online or at the service deli. Meals must be reheated before serving.
