Palisades Fire: Arson Suspect Ordered to Further Proceedings | Pacific Palisades
Los Angeles County Superior Court ordered further proceedings for Ramon Santos Rodriguez, who was arrested in connection to the Palisades fire, which first started on May 14 in a remote area off Michael Lane and Palisades Court.
A judge said further proceedings will be held Monday, July 19, at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center at 8:30 a.m.
Rodriguez was charged Tuesday, May 18, with one felony count each of arson of a structure or forest and arson during a state of emergency, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

PCH Shut Down After Multi-Vehicle Crash | Castellammare
All lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were temporarily shut down at Coastline Drive on Sunday evening, June 20, following a multi-vehicle crash that was reported by California Highway Patrol at 7:05 p.m.
CHP issued a SigAlert at 7:34 pm., with one lane reopened in each direction about five minutes later.
Malibu officials reported that six cars were involved in the crash, while CHP reported that it was four. Cars were removed, and the SigAlert was canceled at 9:35 p.m. No injuries were reported.

‘DACA and the Dreamers: What Comes Next?’ | Pacific Palisades
The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club will host its next Hot Topic Speaker Series on Sunday, June 27, at 3 p.m. via Zoom on the topic of “DACA and the Dreamers: What Comes Next?”
The event will feature Elias Rosenfeld, a Jewish Dreamer activist from Venezuela.
“In 2021 Elias become of the youngest Dreamers to advocate for DACA, President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program,” according to information shared by the club ahead of the event. “We’ll hear from Elias and dive into America’s role as land of opportunity and beacon of hope for the oppressed.”

Community Blood Drive | The Village
American Legion Ronald Reagan-Palisades Post 283 will host a community blood drive with the Red Cross on Tuesday, June 29, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
“Healthy donors needed,” according to a flyer shared ahead of time. “Please join us by appointment so we can ensure safe social distancing.”
Those who wish to make an appointment are invited to do so at redcrossblood.org by entering sponsor name “Post283” or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS. The drive will take place at 15247 La Cruz Drive.

Pali Veg Fest 2 | Palisades Branch Library
The Resilient Palisades Plant Based Solutions Team will host Pali Veg Fest 2, a vegan food truck festival, on Sunday, June 27, between 12 and 4 p.m. This time, the event will take place outside of Palisades Branch Library, located at 861 Alma Real Drive.
Featured trucks will be Word of Mouth, Original Herbivore, Honey Greens Juice Bar, Refillery Los Angeles and Compton Vegan.
Although water and soft drinks will be sold, event organizers are encouraging attendees to bring their own beverage to help limit waste.
