Joy Moeller, a leader in the worldwide movement to introduce orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) into healthcare, will be speaking at the upcoming AAMS First Congress in Los Angeles Sept. 9-13.
Leaders in the field from all over the world will be presenting new findings and advances to 500 allied professionals, students, professors, the general public and concerned parents.
OMT is, very simply, facial exercises to re-position the mouth, tongue and jaw.
Once in proper alignment, many ailments may be remedied including sleep apnea and sleeping disorders, digestive disorders, tongue-tie and speech, TMJ and posture, etc.
Early intervention with children is key and can lead to less time in braces and may help with sleep disorders that lead to ADHD.
So many great achievements are providing medical relief and solutions for so many.
And more are to come.
In addition, Moeller has been asked to speak at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in late September as part of grand rounds to the Pediatric Department and the Sleep Specialists.
Meanwhile she runs a very successful private practice helping patients with orofacial myofunctional therapy.
Patients young and old, celebrities and professionals from all over the country fly in to work with her.
In addition, along with her son Marc Richard Moeller, she founded the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT), which is also run from her Palisades office.
AOMT provides professional training seminars, led by Moeller, with conferences and seminars scheduled throughout the U.S. and the world.
