The Pacific Palisades Elementary School Tennis League’s winter season is in full swing and last Saturday was all about winning for the teams from Marquez Elementary.
Defending champion Marquez 1 defeated Village School. Atticus Parker and Sophia Klotz won their No. 1 doubles match 6-4 as both players remained undefeated this season. Halsey Hulse and Sophie Brazier won 6-2 at the No. 2 spot and Trey Zung and Jamie Robarts won by forfeit at No. 3.
Not to be outdone, Marquez 2 swept its three sets against Calvary Christian. Philip Venkov and Josh Eastland won 6-4 at No. 1 doubles while Zach Zuckerman and Zach Davidson prevailed 6-0 at the No. 2 position. Calvary Christian had to forfeit at No. 3. Marquez 2 improved its record to 4-2.
