Erewhon Plans June 5 Opening

Two stores opened their doors to customers at Caruso’s Palisades Village on Saturday, May 25: Madewell and Buck Mason.
Madewell, which focuses on denim and things to be worn with denim, including T-shirts, bags, jewelry and shoes, for men and women, will feature a denim bar, which includes classic styles as well as a Summer Collection.
“We’re excited to open our 10th store in the Los Angeles area, especially in such a reputable destination like Palisades Village,” Madewell’s Head of Design Joyce Lee shared. “Known for their sustainability efforts and ability to curate a unique community, we can’t wait to open our doors and become a part of such a forward-thinking, vibrant and community-driven space for customers in the area.”
The brand will host a launch party on June 6 and 7, with Cast of Stones on-site selling goods and artist Stephanie DeAngelis available for on-site portraits and limited edition prints.
Buck Mason offers a collection of “timeless men’s clothing that’s been lauded by The Wall Street Journal, LA Times, GQ, Esquire and Forbes.” The brand is known for “butter-soft” T-shirts.
The Palisades iteration marks the sixth Buck Mason storefront—with four throughout LA and two located in New York.
The LA-based brand was founded in 2013 by Venice neighbors Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen, starting with a 350-square-foot garage off Abbot Kinney Boulevard. The two worked closely with a local family factory to “create small batch production runs, crafting each piece using old school manufacturing techniques combined with modern technology.”
Joining the list of stores now open at Palisades Village soon will be Erewhon Market, which shared on a Facebook post that the store will open on June 5.
Erewhon will open in the space formerly occupied by Vintage Grocers, which shuttered suddenly on Friday, March 15.
This will mark the fifth Erewhon location, an independent and family-owned organic grocer with stores in Calabasas, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Venice.
