Election Season
Thank you for running the full-page public service announcement (Aug. 2) about the upcoming election of area and at-large representatives to the Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC), with photos and statements from all candidates.
The Election Committee and Board are making a strong effort to make voting easy by again holding the voting online, via the vote button on the council’s website, pacpalicc.org, starting 9 p.m., Aug. 9.
And we’re trying to expand the number of voters by no longer restricting voting to one per household. Any 18-year-old resident is eligible to vote for their area representative and at-large representative, and any Palisades property owner or business operator (whether or not a Palisades resident) is also eligible to vote for the at-large representative.
Voting will be open for three weeks, until 9 p.m., Aug. 30. More details and candidate statements are at the PPCC website.
We will be holding a Candidate Forum on Thursday, Aug. 9, at the 7 p.m. PPCC Board meeting at the Palisades Branch Library. All candidates may give a two-minute statement.
Questions will be asked of the candidates for the contested races: Area 2 (Highlands) and at-large seats. If time permits—and we’ll try to make time—questions may be asked of candidates for all of the other seats (Area 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8).
Area maps and descriptions are on the PPCC website, and the online ballot includes a link to those maps and descriptions.
Please come to the Candidate Forum and then vote for your Pacific Palisades Community Council representatives. We represent you, hear your concerns, debate local issues and when there is broad community agreement, advocate for you with our local officials and elected politicians.
This is your council. Come meet and hear from the highly qualified local candidates tonight. We thank them for running.

Happy Ending
It is so nice to find someone honest and caring! And I certainly did in Pacific Palisades, California. A huge thank you to the person that found my wallet and made the effort to contact me and return it.
My wallet apparently fell out of my purse and was on the curb. I sincerely hope that she reads this and knows how much she is appreciated.
I send my heartfelt thanks!
