Keri Kirk Oleson, 69, passed away Jan. 23, 2015 in Easthampton, Massachusetts.
Keri, son of Rex and Joy Oleson, is survived by his sister Lyn Oleson; two children Brenden Kirk Oleson and Amanda Joy Oleson Schmidt; six grandchildren; and one nephew.
In 1962 the family moved to California where he swam competitively for the Palisades High School Dolphins and Santa Monica City College Tankers.
After graduating Pali High in the class of ’63, he became affiliated with Stewart Artists/Stewart Men and embarked on a career that spanned two decades as a model and actor in New York City, California and abroad.
In 1968, he appeared in the movie The Swimmer based on John Cheever’s 1964 short story. Directed by Sydney Pollack and Frank Perry, the film starred Burt Lancaster, Janet Langard, Janice Rule and Joan Rivers.
Keri developed and was a partner in the Museum Café from 1975 to 1984, a NYC restaurant that paved the way for trendy nightspots on Columbus Avenue in the Upper West Side.
He resided in Bridgehampton, New York and was an active participant in the East Hampton Community Theater.
He was involved in a number of community-based local art and interest groups and later moved to live by the waves in Amagansett.
He retired in Easthampton, Massachusetts, where he volunteered for the Easthampton Council on Aging and provided transportation assistance for those in need in his community.
Keri was loved by all who knew him and is greatly missed by family and generations of friends near and far.
