After seven years on Sunset Boulevard, K Bakery moved to The Highlands, opening as K Bakery Eatery + Bakeshop at 548 Palisades Drive on Monday, Oct. 1.
“We have expanded the name to K Bakery Eatery + Bakeshop because we are really more of a restaurant now,” Huntington resident and owner of the shop Kim Kedeshian told the Palisadian-Post.
The location, which offers fan favorites including desserts, cake, soup and cookies, has added things like burgers to the menu.
“I just really wanted to have a burger on the menu,” said Kedeshian—an attorney by education but a baker/chef by heritage.
The Palisades Drive shop serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a Sunday brunch.
“We make our own English muffins,” Kedeshian said of K Bakery Eatery + Bakeshop’s breakfast selections. It also has its own organic herb garden.
In a couple of weeks, the shop will also have a beer and wine license. Kedeshian plans to focus on locally sourced beers and wines, “staying true to the ‘from scratch’ aspect,” she said.
Kedeshian shared that the team is on track to open a second location, Armav (meaning “date” in Armenian), in The Village by the end of 2018 at 970 Monument Street.
Kedeshian’s assistant Alex Stern previously told the Post that the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant pays homage to Kedeshian’s family, which has a history of date farming.
“We are definitely in the heat of the battle of that one,” Kedeshian said of the store’s fast-approaching opening.
