Ateam’s success is not merely measured in wins and losses. Sometimes, the way you play counts just as much. That was the message
Palisades High junior varsity football coach Tharen Todd conveyed to his team after last Wednesday’s hardfought 27-7 triumph over crosstown rival Brentwood.
“We had to overcome adversity and that’s what makes it satisfying,” Todd said. “Three bad snaps put us in a third-and-53 situation and after that we just went under center and let the running backs do their thing.”
Brentwood scored in the first quarter and it wasnot until Harrison Carter plowed into the end zone from two yards out that the Dolphins got on the scoreboard. They took a 13-7 lead into the locker room ands tacked on two fourth quarter scores—the second on a 94-yard run by Tyler Jones sprung by freshman Terrell Manning’s textbook block.
