While most Palisades High track team members were resting for this weekend’s Arcadia Invitational, Bailey Jones was taking first place in the varsity long jump in a season-best 21 feet, 11 inches and second place in the triple jump at 45-01.25.
“Going to Arcadia, guys will have better marks than me but I’m hoping for 48 [feet] in the triple,” Jones said. “My goal is to go to state in three events (long jump, triple jump and 110 hurdles). I’m top three in the City in hurdles and No. 1 in the long jump and triple.”
Cameron Bailey took fifth in the varsity triple jump and eighth in the long jump. Kenny Davis was second in the frosh/soph triple with a personal-best 40-01.50 and Devanair Skinner was fourth in a personal-record 37-09.50.
Elisa Kim was third in the varsity girls 800 in a seasonal-best 2:25.51. Gabrielle Ligon was second in the frosh/soph long jump in a personal-best 15-01.00 and PR’d for fifth in the triple (29-07.50).
