Former Palisades High soccer player Chad Johnson is making a significant impact on the pitch at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.
The 6-foot, 175-pound freshman forward had one goal and one assist in the Bisons’ 3-1 victory over St. Elizabeth on Sept. 8 and tallied two goals and two assists in a 4-0 triumph at Southern Virginia four days later. He started three of Gallaudet’s first five games.
As a ninth grader at Pali High Johnson was the JV captain before seeing significant time on varsity as a sophomore. As a junior he scored five goals with one assist in 11 games and as a senior in 2015-16 he netted a team-high 15 goals with four assists for a total of 34 points in 21 games and led the Dolphins to a 19-3-2 record and their first City Section soccer title.
Johnson played for two elite club teams: LA Premier FC’s U19 Gold squad and LA United Futbol Academy’s U18 Gold squad. His brother Kent is a pitcher/outfielder on the Pali High baseball team.
