Mrs. Glenn Martin Webb, née Jackie Lee Pierce of Pacific Palisades, was born July 31, 1918 in Lubbock, Texas to Margaret (Monnie) and Charles (Charlie) Pierce. She passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 in Ventura, California at the age of 96 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Jackie attended Santa Monica High School and Beverly Hills High School. During WWll she worked at the Douglas Aircraft Company and the Hughes Aircraft Company as one of the famed “Rosie the Riveters.” She worked on the Hughes H-4 Hercules, better known as “The Spruce Goose.”
She married Major Glenn Martin Webb of Santa Monica. Major Webb flew 78 missions over the European Theater of Operations in both the Lockheed P-38 Lightning and the North American Aircraft P-51 Mustang. Major Webb passed away on Dec. 7, 1951.
She is survived by her sons Gary Lee Webb of Oceanside, California; Guy Martin Webb of Ventura, California; and daughter Julie Jeanne Webb of Santa Monica, California; as well as four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
