Palisades Branch Library has picked one of the most-liked animated pictures of all time for its October 12 Saturday Movie Matinee screening: the third installment in the “How to Train Your Dragon” series.
Newly out in 2019, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” “brings its saga to a visually dazzling and emotional affecting conclusion,” according to Rotten Tomatoes.
“What began as an unlikely friendship between an adolescent Viking and a fearsome Night Fury dragon has become an epic trilogy spanning their lives,” according to MovieWeb.
When your favorite nerdy Viking Hiccup discovers Toothless isn’t the only Night Fury dragon, he must find “The Hidden World,” a secret dragon utopia, before a hired tyrant named Grimmel finds it first.
The film by DreamWorks Animation stars Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera playing the voices of Toothless and Astrid, respectively. Academy Award-winner F. Murray Abraham plays the voice of Grimmel.
Award-winning composer John Powell, who wrote the musical scores for all three films in the trilogy, maintains a Pacific Palisades home music studio. Powell garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score for the first installment, “How to Train Your Dragon.”
The film starts at the Palisades Branch Library at 1 p.m. The PG film is rated 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and has a run time of 110 minutes.
