Pali High Softball Scores 34 Runs in Western League Rout of University
They say hitting is contagious and the bug spread throughout the Palisades High softball team last Wednesday at University.
The Dolphins scored nine runs in the first inning and continued to pour it on. By the time it was over they had scored 34 runs, blasted four home runs and pounded out 31 hits—the most runs and hits in five seasons under head coach Tori Dario. The 34-11 rout also equaled Palisades’ second-largest margin of victory under Dario. The Dolphins beat Westchester by 26 runs in 2017.
Gabby Weiner went seven-for-seven with two runs, a double and three RBIs and pitched four and one-third innings and Ella Edwards was six-for-seven with a homer, six RBIs and five runs.
Alyssa Wallin had two homers and four RBIs, Adrianna Canas homered and Julia Guedea-Noriega scored five runs.
On Monday, Fairfax exploded for 14 runs in the sixth inning to beat the Dolphins 21-7.
