On Friday, Nov. 30, community members gathered at Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades to attend “Malibu United”—a night of relief in response to the Woolsey fire.
“The event went very well,” event organizer Taylor Begert shared with the Palisadian-Post. “The response was one of unity, and of many finding comfort in the face of tragedy and loss.”
The evening was hosted by Well Collective, a Los Angeles-based community of worship artists, in partnership with several places of worship, including Calvary Church, University Church of Christ, Malibu Presbyterian, Malibu Gathering, Risen and Bel Air Presbyterian Church.
The event, which was attended by about 125 people, was open to families and all were “welcome to join together for a night of unity amid the heartache and tragedy that Malibu has currently faced,” a press release stated.
All funds raised at Malibu United went to Malibu churches to help support those who had been affected by the fire.
