Situated on the northeast corner of Temescal Canyon Road and Bowdoin Street sits a newly constructed nursery and garden center—but until recently, it remained unclear who would occupy the very specific retail space.
According to the listing, the owner, Treefarmland, LLC, had planned to operate a nursery and garden center at the location, but decided instead to lease or sell it out.
Since the Post first investigated the empty space, signs for Acme 5 Lifestyle have now been placed on the property, which has since been filled with garden decor items.
Acme 5, which operates a location on Lincoln Boulevard in Santa Monica, offers a range of pieces for outdoor spaces, including furniture, plants, fire pits and ceramics.
According to a post on social media from Nov. 25, Acme 5 Lifestyle opened a Yucca Valley location.
“Was a wild week,” the post stated. “Thank you all for your support and help setting up.”
The Palisades property first went up for lease in October through KMK Management. The gross leasable area, located between Palisades Charter High School and Theatre Palisades, is 377 square feet and includes an office and two private bathrooms, the LoopNet listing reported.
“Rent rate is $7,250 per month [triple net lease] for the entire property, including a small building that can be used as an office or point of sale for a nursery and garden center. Property is newly constructed and ready to occupy.”
The Temescal Canyon Road location will be the third Acme 5 Lifestyle space.
“This place is rad,” one Yelp review stated about the Santa Monica location. “Nice hang out spot, cool collection of plants [and] pots. The people that work here know their stuff, will help you with any of your planting needs or just shoot the breeze with you.”
As the Post went to print, representatives from Acme 5 Lifestyle had not responded to inquiries about the property.
